Delta Current / Reporting and operations

Your Monday numbers should assemble themselves.

I connect the sources, validate what arrived, deliver the useful view, and operate the workflows behind it. A missing source is marked missing—not quietly reused from last week.

Reporting is only useful when freshness, failures, and definitions are visible.

Operating promiseFresh, defined, and honest about what is missing.
One definitionMetrics stop changing with whoever built the spreadsheet.
Visible freshnessEvery source says when it last arrived.
Operated monthlyFixes and one improvement are part of the service.
The job

A dashboard is not a reporting system.

The real job begins before the chart: collecting the correct sources, making definitions explicit, catching stale or partial data, and sending the owner the decisions that need attention.

  • Source map

For every number, document the system, field, owner, refresh cadence, and failure behavior. If no reliable source exists, that is the first finding.

  • Validation

Check expected arrival windows, counts, duplicates, required fields, and reconciliation rules before a polished output can imply that the data is complete.

  • Metric definitions

Write what “new lead,” “booked,” “revenue,” “active client,” or “complete” actually means so each run is comparable.

  • Delivery

Send the smallest useful view where the owner already works: a dashboard, email brief, shared table, or another approved destination.

  • Operation

Monitor failures, correct source drift, review anomalies, and improve one useful part each month instead of abandoning the workflow after launch.

What gets automated

  • Scheduled source collection
  • Normalization and deduplication
  • Freshness and completeness checks
  • Agreed metric calculations
  • Brief/dashboard delivery
  • Failure and exception alerts

What remains judgment

  • Deciding which metric matters
  • Explaining an unexplained anomaly
  • Changing accounting definitions
  • Approving sensitive data access
  • Choosing the business response
  • Treating an AI summary as source data
Relevant proof

The reliability pattern already exists.

Thomas runs a self-hosted finance view that refreshes balances daily and explicitly marks accounts that cannot be automated. His n8n rescue work rebuilt monitoring around errored executions rather than a shallow green endpoint.

Those are personal/production engineering examples, not client reporting outcomes. They establish two design rules Delta carries into commercial work: never present stale data as current, and monitor the job that matters rather than a proxy that merely responds.

A Delta reporting proof page should be added only when a sanitized output, definitions ledger, and observed operating window can be shown.

Installation

Build the trust layer before the visualization.

  1. Choose the weekly decisions

Start with what the owner needs to notice or decide, then work backward to the minimum metrics and sources.

  2. Audit the inputs

Confirm permissions, history, freshness, identifiers, and known gaps. No visual treatment repairs an unreliable source.

  3. Implement and reconcile

Build the collection and definitions, then compare automated results against a known manual period before unattended delivery.

  4. Make failure visible

Stale feeds, missing fields, duplicate rows, and calculation errors produce an exception—not last week's number wearing a new date.

  5. Operate the system

Each month includes monitoring, fixes, a reviewed improvement, and a report on the workflow itself.

Price

The report and its operating layer.

$1,500–$2,500

Typical initial range for a focused reporting system with a manageable source set and written definitions.

$500–$900 / month

Monitoring, repairs, one agreed improvement, and the system-performance report.

Data warehouse projects, custom software, complex historical cleanup, or regulated data require separate scope and may not fit this offer.

Questions

What makes the numbers trustworthy.

Can you use the tools I already have?

Usually. The source map begins with the current CRM, finance, calendar, ad, and operating systems. A replacement is recommended only when access or data quality blocks the required result.

Will AI calculate the metrics?

No. Core metrics use explicit, testable rules. AI may help summarize already-validated information, but its prose is not the source of truth and should link back to the underlying numbers.

What happens when a source is late?

The report marks the source stale or incomplete and alerts the owner. Reusing an old number without a visible warning is treated as a failure.

Do I get a dashboard?

If a dashboard is the useful destination. Some owners need a concise weekly brief with links to detail. The delivery format follows the decision, not the other way around.

Bring the report you assemble by hand.

We will identify which number drives a decision, where it comes from, and what would make an automated version unsafe to trust.
